Kom dan naar het seventies-optreden van John Clearview komende zondagmiddag (23 april 2006) van 12 tot 17 uur in het MuseumCafé van het Museum van de Twintigste Eeuw, Bierkade 4 in Hoorn! In het kader van de (tot 17 september verlengde) Seventies-expositie zal John seventies-klassiekers zingen en zichzelf op gitaar begeleiden.

My name is John Clearview and I’m an American living here in Holland. The Northeastern part of the United States is where I originally come from. Also known as the Appalachian Mountain region. Like any place, we have our own way of saying things there. And, our own way of making music. In the 1970’s this area produced fantastic American artists. These people have become famous all over the world for their low maintenance fresh approach to music; simple, down to earth and fresh. There diversity and popularity are the reasons why I’ve chosen the music of these acoustic superhero’s to form an international repertoire. Names like; James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Paul Simon Jim Croce and Jackson Browne. And the music of bands like; the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Little Feate, the Eagles, Buffalo Springfield, America, Cosby Stills Nash and Young and Bob Dylan. I have a large compilation of songs from these artists that I’ve been developing for a while now, and each year I try to focus in on one of the artists especially. This year the spotlight is on Jim Croce, and his 14 greatest hits form the heart of my music program!
